Disclosing The Accounting Academy's supervision on your website
Your website is often the first place prospective clients will form an impression of your qualifications and authority. Getting your disclosure right is not just good practice — it is a legal and professional obligation.
Why disclosure matters
Under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA), only a registered tax agent may provide tax agent services for a fee or reward. As a supervised tax practitioner, you are permitted to carry out this work under the direct supervision and control of a registered tax agent. However, if your website does not make this arrangement explicit, clients may reasonably — and incorrectly — assume that you are yourself a fully registered tax agent.
That misunderstanding creates real risk. Clients may rely on your services without understanding the nature of the supervisory relationship, and you may inadvertently be holding yourself out as a registered agent when you are not. Both outcomes can expose you, your clients, and your supervising agent to complaints, liability, and disciplinary action from the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).
What your website must make clear
Your website should state, in plain language and in a prominent location, that you are a supervised tax practitioner working under supervision. It should identify your supervising registered agent — in this case, The Accounting Academy Services Pty Limited — by name, ABN, and agent number. This information should appear in at least two places: within your tax services section, and within your terms and conditions.
Displaying the Tax Practitioners Board RAN (Registered Agent Number) logo alongside your supervising agent's credentials further reinforces the legitimacy and transparency of the arrangement, and helps clients understand who is ultimately responsible for the quality and compliance of the work.

All services are closely monitored to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
